Paper Towns By John Green Review

I highly highly highly! Recommend reading this book before watching the movie!! I can not stress that enough. First of all I want to start off by giving a slow handed clap to John Green you have done it again my man! John Green really has a way with words and a very good imagination. This book is taken from the point of you from Quentin or Q for short. Quentin is lets say socially inept. He has two best friends Ben and Radar who are super cool but also nerds and weirdos if you will. Radar's parents own the biggest black Santa collection, and Ben has a horrible habit of calling women 'Honey Bunnies'. Quentin however does not own a giant collection of black Santa's, he's pretty normal. He has two parents both psychologists who agree on everything, he gets good grades, doesn't get into trouble and basically lives a very boring life. That is until someone mentions Margo Roth Spiegelman. Margo is Quentins long time neighbor since childhood. Quentin undoubtedly has the biggest crush ever on the beautiful, adventurous, bad girl Margo. Paper towns is a book about friendship not love like The Fault In Our Stars. You'd think because John starts the book in great detail about how much Quentin loves and admires Margo and then throws in an adventure with Margo and Quentin right before Margo drops off the face of the earth that the book would go that way but it didn't. Quentin starts to follow the little clue trail Margo leaves him but contrary to what he, his friends and Margo's bestfriend thinks, Margo does NOT want to be found. She left for a reason and while she started out leaving clues for Quentin it was only to reward him with a secret hangout place she wanted him to have. Quentin found clues she didnt want him to see. Towards the end of the book your heart cracks a little bit. I hate John Green for making me hate Margo at the end of the book. This book made me cry but most of all I laughed ALOT. Ben is hilarious and every time I saw his name my first thought would be, "Oh boy." I at first thought this book was going to be boring, I had just finished TFIOS and the beginning of the book didn't exactly entice me but I read it anyway. I cannot wait to read more of John's books. Now for the movie that is coming out, I just want to point out that there are some major differences. You will see them in the trailers and I got kind of pissed off. The way John wrote it was perfect but I guess he okay'd the directors decisions. UGH! However I do believe the film came out pretty spectacular.
Read Paper Towns when you get the chance.

Love Always,
